MG6 BTCC Special Edition Revealed

MG6 BTCC Edition1 at MG6 BTCC Special Edition Revealed

MG is celebrating their return to the British Touring Car Championship with a special edition MG6, named quite simply BTCC edition. Unveiled at the final round of the 2012 MSA Dunlop British Touring Car, this car is the hottest MG model yet – the Chinese MG, mind you, not the old MG.

Starting with the visuals, the MG6 BTCC comes with lots of black stuff, including matt black roof and 18-inch alloy wheels with black gloss sills, door mirror covers, lower front air dam, rear bumper and rear spoiler. They make a nice contrast with the available body colors, including Arctic White and Union Blue.

Another highlights of the exterior are the numerous BTCC badges and distinctive MG KX Momentum Racing team colours decals scattered all over the car. BTCC Edition graphics are highlighted on the sills and also inside the car on the passenger facia.

MG6 BTCC is powered by 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 160 PS, which is not very BTCCish, what with a 0 to 60 time of 8.4 seconds and top speed of only 120 mph. Still, the car offers plenty of value considering its starting price of just £16,995, and the list of standard equipment, which includes:

Built-in full colour European satellite navigation (including a lifetime subscription to Trafficmaster), sports driver and front passenger seats, Dunlop Sport 225/45R 18-inch performance tyres, electronic hill hold function, power folding electrically heated exterior mirrors, iTPMS tyre monitoring system, rear parking sensors, front fog lights, cruise control, CD audio with USB and auxiliary inputs for MP3/Ipod connectivity and a leather covered multifunction steering wheel.
