Carlsson has always been keen to try new things, whether its making their own super GT based on the Mercedes SL, or making a race car based on the Mercedes SLK sports convertible! It’s a technical exercise for now, but they’ve done a pretty good job.
This car, called SLK JUDD, has been totally stripped-down, and if that wasn’t enough, most of the body components are replaced with carbon fiber ones. The result is a curb weight of 780 hp. Now you see why it needed such a large rear spoiler: to create downforce. The aero kit is full-on racing, with a front splitter, wide vented fenders, side blades, rear wing and rear diffuser.
The engine powering this race car is a 3.4 liter V8 developing over 600 horsepower. Other racing bits and bobs include a 3-way adjustable KW competition suspension, powerful brakes, and 18-inch BBS lightweight wheels with Avon high performance tires.
