Audi unveiled the new RS7 Sportback, the most powerful version of the A7 family, at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. Based on that car, a Belgian artist has created this, a tribute to the legendary Audi S1 Quattro – a car that dominated the fearsome Group B rally championship back in the 80’s.
It is a very cool design, although if Audi were to create a modern-day Quattro rally car, they definitely wouldn’t base it on a large family car like the A7. The artist has recreated the unique livery and also added signature rally car lights to the front, and also changed the rims for some truly classic ones.
The original Quattro had a 2.1 liter five-cylinder turbo engine. The RS7 is also turbocharged, but it has a 4.0 liter V8 engine developing 412 kW (560 hp) and 700 Nm (516.29 lb-ft). It is quite a performer, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds, and a top speed of 309 km/h.
