There have been numerous special edition Lamborghini Gallardos over the years, but Lamborghini is reportedly planning one last, very special, model to send the car on its way at the end of this year. The Final Edition Gallardo will be a stripped-out, manual model.

So Lamborghini is finally making that sweet, properly sporty version that the Gallardo should have been from the beginning. This car will only have the necessary luxury objects and no extra garnish; rear-wheel-drive instead of the standard AWD; and a proper six-speed manual gearbox.

The Final Edition will be faster and generally more awesome than the Balboni edition mainly because it will weigh less. The power comes from the Gallardo’s V10 – which will probably die along with the Gallardo when they cease the production of the car – but it’s not clear yet if it is going to get more power.
