It doesn’t matter to ABT Sportline what type of car they are working on or what kind of engine it is powered by, as long as it has a Volkswagen badge. In their latest upgrade program they are trying to increase the appeal of the diesel-powered version of the Golf GTI, known as the GTD.
First off, and because more power always equals more fun – and not just in the automotive world – ABT gets busy with that 2.0 liter turbocharged oil-burner. The managed to extract nearly 30 more horsepower from it, bringing the total output up to 210 horsepower and a very remarkable 430 Nm of torque.
That will sure make the driving experience a lot more pleasant. But make sure you get a sport exhaust system for it as well.
Visually, and aside a wide range of 18 and 19-inch wheels on offer, ABT hooks you up with one of their classic body kits consisting of a sports front grille, revised bumper with a large spoiler, side skirts, a modified and sportified rear hatch, and a new rear diffuser incorporating four round tailpipes.
