MEC Design’s latest project is a lovely Mercedes-Benz from the past decade, the R171 SLK55 AMG. This car reminds you that Mercedes was indeed capable of designing amazing looking cars. It gives you hope that the current design language, that has resulted in a number of really ugly cars, is just a temporary blunder.
Anyways, let’s the R171 by MEC Design. The tuner has done many good things to the SLK55, improving its style, handling, and driving fun. The treatment begins with installing a set of ConDeni Nobilis 1 piece wheels. They measure 8,5×19 front and 9,5×19 rear, and have a special black finish with red lips that match the color of the exterior.
Front tires are 225 section and the rear ones 255. MEC has also fiddled with the standard AMG suspension system and lowered the ride height a bit, complementing the new wheels. That is about it for the technical changes.
There are a couple of other mods, including the addition of LED mirror covers, TV module to unlock the TV lock, and Roof One Touch module – a hack that allows you open and close the roof while driving.
