It is about time for the Nissan 370Z sports car to get a facelift or something. But the Japanese car maker believes that it can still cut it for at least another year. So they settled for a few slight upgrades, and instead lowered the base price rather significantly.
The 2014 370Z Coupe starts from $29,990, which is a whole $3,130 lower than the last year’s model. The better-equipped Touring grade also sees a $2,550 price reduction. The 370Z Roadster and the new enhanced Nismo model do not get a price cut, but they are not getting any bump either. They cost the same as 2013 models.
It is interesting in the case of the 370Z Nismo, which features a couple of upgrades in the 2014 model, including new dark gray coloring for the front and rear fascias, lower side sills, side mirrors and NISMO rear spoiler, with each element (except side sills) featuring NISMO-style red pinstripe accents. Inside it gets a new steering wheel with Alcantara® appointments and red accents and a red NISMO tachometer.
There is no change in the technical department, as the new Nismo gets the same old 370 horsepower V6 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, sport-tuned suspension and brakes and 19-inch wheels. The 370Z may seem a bit too expensive and not as desirable as cars like the Toyota GT86, but it is still a 300+ hp rear-drive sports car. It is still a hugely appealing prospect.
