Hartmann Tuning has initiated a new program called the VANSPORTS, which as the name suggests, is all about turning vans into more liveable vehicles. Currently, they cover models by Opel, VW, Renault and Mercedes-Benz. This here is their program for the Volkswagen T5 Bus.
They begin with the performance, and provide the 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine with a kit that boosts the power from 140 hp up to 166 hp and the torque from 340 Nm up to 395 Nm. The owners of the 2.0 liter BiTDI versions will get a boost to 212 hp and 460 Nm of torque (from the standard 179 hp and 400 Nm).
The engine tuning kit includes a throttle body control and a stainless steel sports exhaust system with 2 x 80 mm tailpipes. These parts can also be fitted to VW Caddy and Amarok models with the same diesel engine.
Further mods include a subtle body kit including front spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser, 35mm lowering thanks to Bilstein dampers, and a set of aftermarket wheels, in this case VEST-3-wheels in 9 x 20” with 275/35 R20 tires.
