The official pricing of the 2014 Kia Optima has been announced for the American market. Once the most affordable new sedan in America, the Optima in its new model kicks off at $23,300, and comes in three trim levels of LX, EX, and SX.

The styling of the 2014 Kia Optima has been updated, but it is the same sort of update they gave the Sportage. Changes are barely perceptible. One change you do notice, inside the car, is the addition of an eight-inch navigation screen.

The base LX model, powered by a 200hp 2.4 liter four-cylinder engine, can now be specified with blind spot monitoring system, which includes rear cross-traffic alert and rear parking sensors, as well as a $1,400 Convenience Package, that adds 10-way power driver seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror with homelink, and rearview camera display.

The mid-range EX model, powered by the same engine as the LX and starting from $24,700, is fitted with 17-inch wheels, eight-way power driver seat, illuminated front cupholders, rear air conditioning, hands-free keyless entry, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear.

Only the range-topping SX model can be had with a different engine – a 274 hp 2.0-liter Turbo four-cylinder – but it starts from $26,050. The Optima SX has two editions, the SX-T which starts at $28,000, and the SX-L which adds stuff like 18-inch wheels, more chrome work, red brake calipers, and Nappa leather, and starts at $37,100.
