The suspension experts at KW Automotive announced the launch of a tailored system for the BMW 3-Series GT. The ungainly 3er looks a bit better after this treatment, as it lowers the ride height. But the main goal here is to improve the handling.
KW Suspension for BMW 3-Series GT consists of DDC “Plug & Play” coilovers with electronic damper control up to KW coilovers Variant 1, Variant 2 and Variant 3. Made from stainless steel, the coilover kits allow a continuous lowering of 30 to 55 mm at the front axle and 15 to 40 mm on the back.
Furthermore, they can be individually adjusted by the driver in damping characteristics. There is even an iPhone app that lets you alter the ride height and change the damping remotely. It’s a bit of a faff, but still, a neat feature.
Despite the lowing of up to 55 mm, KW promises none of the ride qualities have been lost. That’s good, because the 3 Series GT is designed as a family car. And a family car with a firm ride results in acute car sickness for the children.
