Seeing as Mercedes does not make a Black Series version of the CLS Class, Prior Design decided to have a go and make a normal CLS at least look like a BS. The result is the Prior Design Mercedes CLS PD550 Black Edition, which looks excessively cool save that yellow bit in its front bumper.

Available for all Mercedes CLS W218 models, the PD550 Black Edition kit consists of redesigned front and rear bumpers (2299,00 € and 1990,00 € respectively), a pair of chunky side skirts (980,00 €), wide new front wings that complement the widening operation that’s done to the rear fenders (980,00 €), rear trunk spoiler (499,00 €), and the Black Edition bonnet (599,00 €).

The kit is made from Dura-Flex FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), which begs the question why it’s so pricey then. But then it has German quality which is the best sort you can get, and that should justify the cost.

The paint finish is of course optional and depends on the base car, but this particular one is finished in an amazing gunmetal sort of grey with the wheels finished in the same shade. We just don’t get the yellow front splitter and yellow brake calipers. They kinda ruin an otherwise cool car.
