Nissan is pretty chuffed with what they have with the GT-R at the moment, but they are not sitting on their bottoms doing nothing. The competition is getting fiercer by the minute, with opponents being prepared for the GT-R in form of the new NSX, or that fancy Lexus Coupe. A change then, is in order.

Now, the way we know the guys working at Nissan, most changes will be technical, to make sure the GT-R will stay ahead of the curve, both literally and figuratively. In terms of styling, however, we can’t really expect much.

Still, the guys at TopSpeed have come up with these awesome renderings to showcase their idea of what the 2016 Nissan GT-R should look like. It looks fantastic; definitely a worthy adversary for the new Honda NSX. But to be honest it also looks way too fancy for a conservative car maker like Nissan. We can’t remember one occasion in recent years where they came up with something daring and extra ordinary styling-wise.

It’s nice to dream though. So let’s just enjoy these pictures and wait to see what Nissan is cooking up for the next GT-R.
