The Audi R8 might be starting to look kind of dated and old, but it is still one of the most brilliant, and most affordable, mid-engine super cars you can buy; specially, the V10 Plus version with dual-clutch transmission. Now that car has been the subject of an interesting upgrade work by B&B Autotechnik.
The standard car is by no means a slouch, boasting 550 horsepower and 540 nm of torque. What B&B proposes is a 3-stage treatment that increases that power step by step until the R8 becomes a total monster.
B&B Audi R8 V10 Plus begins with simple software tweakery in stage one and boosts the output to 595 hp with 560 Nm of torque. A bit more fiddling in stage two results in 610 hp and 570 Nm, while in the full-fat stage three you get 630 and 570 Nm.
Stage three is where B&B has given it all, including upgraded injection and ignition system, new air intake system, and a racing exhaust system. In this stage the Audi R8 V10 Plus can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 328 km/h.
While leaving the aesthetics of the R8 untouched, B&B has fitted the car with adjustable suspension that lowers the ride height between 20 to 40 mm, and installed a set of 20-inch wheels.
