Remember when the Nissan GT-R was first launched they used to call it the performance bargain, a car that is faster than a Porsche 911 and costs a lot less? Well, that is not the case anymore. The GT-R is still hella fast, but it ain’t no bargain anymore. The 2015 model starts from $101,770.
Nissan probably said to themselves, a year or so into the GT-R’s production, wait a minute, we have made a brilliant car that is faster than a Porsche. So why in the hell are we charging so little for it? So they gradually increased the price over the years. And now we arrive at the 2015 Nissan GT-R which costs 101 grand for the base model, $111,510 for the Black Edition, and $115,710 for the Track Edition.
100 grand for a Nissan? Granted, that’s a lot of money for a Nissan, but the GT-R is very fast. What’s more, the 2015 model comes with a recalibrated suspension for better ride and handling (less harshness), LED headlight, carbon rear spoiler on Track model, and enhanced interior with including a standard Bose Active Noise Cancellation system and carbon-style instrument cluster.
Yes, you could buy a Carrera that is much nicer to live with, is just as quick in the real world, and its badge carry a lot more weight. But the Nissan is… very fast.
