Canada is a prosperous country and not one you think of when talking about cheap, economy cars. Nevertheless, Nissan decided they need such a thing and launched the new 2015 Micra at the Montreal Motor show to give the Canadians a taste of value-driven eco motoring.
To arrive in the market this spring, 2015 Nissan Micra offers its Canadian customers a blend of Japanese reliability and European quality, all wrapped up in a very uninteresting package. The car comes in three models, the Micra S, SV and top-of-the-line SR, all powered by the same 1.6 liter DOHC four-cylinder engine. You can have it with either a 5-speed manual transmission, or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
Canada will be the only market in North America that the Micra goes on sale, and so it is equipped accordingly with lots of ‘heated’ stuff, such as heated outside mirrors, rear heater ducts (to keep backseat toes warm), 60/40 split rear seats and either 15 or 16 inch wheels – sizes convenient for snow tires.
Nissan has not revealed yet how much the Micra will cost in the Canadian market, but they say it will be a “great” price.
