Nissan believes they’ve hit a homerun with their IDx sports car concepts, the Freeflow and the Nismo, which they showcase at every motor show they can. Now, following Tokyo and Detroit motor shows, Nissan decided to send the cars on a tour of the West Coast, so fans and enthusiasts can get a first-hand look at what they think is the perfect car for the Y generation.
This is actually a very clever marketing campaign. Nissan IDX concepts are pure sports cars designed to appeal to car enthusiasts, which is why they are often referred to as Nissan’s answer to the Toyota GT86.
The cars will be attending events like Cars and Coffee and other venues that real car guys frequent. This is part of a build-up program Nissan is launching for the launch of a production version of the IDx.
Nissan IDx concepts will be in Southern California from Friday, Jan. 31 through Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. They first hit the block in Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, where fans will get to chat with the designers. Next stop will be a casual meeting at the “Cars & Coffee” enthusiast gathering in Irvine on February 1, before the convoy heads to Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles as part of the “Inside the MotoMan Studio” event.
