Nissan brought along to this year’s Detroit Motor Show a number of ‘sporty’ cars, including a sports sedan concept, the IDx concepts, and this, the Nissan Sentra NISMO, which is also a concept. The Sentra is a study to see how many NISMO parts and accessories are needed to make the Sentra less boring.

The answer is a lot. The car has a substantial styling kit, including a deep front fascia with lower LED lights and wide lower grille, wide lower front spoiler, fender flares, side sills, 370-style rear diffuser, deep-skirted rear fascia accentuated by large dual exhaust tips, and smoked lights. A Bright Pearl White paint job garnished with black chrome accents makes the carbon fiber kit stand out on the Sentra.

Nissan Sentra NISMO is powered by a 1.8-liter direct injection turbocharged engine producing more than 240 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. To cope, they also fitted with the car with NISMO-tuned independent strut front and torsion beam rear suspension with high performance components, and 19-inch RAYS aluminum-alloy wheels mounted with 225/35R19 Michelin Super Sport performance tires and red-painted 370Z brake calipers complete the package.

As for the interior, the mods include Recaro “Sportster” front seats with custom black leather and Alcantara, Alcatara rear seats and headliner, leather/Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel with red accents and matching gear and handbrake lever, and sports instruments.

Nissan Sentra NISMO concept serves as a moving advertisement for NISMO and their high-performance parts. But it could also inspire a hotted-up production Sentra in the near future.
