Market-specific model is a thing of the past. These days manufacturers are prepared to go the moon if it means they can sell a few more cars. So it’s not a surprise that more and more American car makers are launching their U.S.-only models in Europe.
Ford, for example, is bringing their new Mustang and they’ve even tailored the car to suit the European roads. And now it’s Cadillac’s turn to expand its European lineup by adding the new 2015 Escalade and the ATS Coupe.
Before this if you wanted an Escalade, you had to go to private importers and pay extra for registration and homologation. But after the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, where Cadillac Escalade and ATS Coupe will make their debut, you will be able to order them from the company.
Mind you, these are not the sort of cars that would really appeal to Europeans. The Escalade is massive SUV with not much off-road capabilities, and the ATS Coupe, well, it just isn’t as good as the Euro coupes. That’s just a fact. But, the exclusivity and rarity of these models can play in their favor; especially for Escalade, which thanks to its background as a celebrity favorite, is considered quite cool.
Cadillac Escalade and ATS Coupe will be launched in Europe in the fall of 2014.
