Mercedes specialist Piecha Design, in collaboration with German tuner and distributer of tuning parts JMS, have come up with a lavish styling treatment for the Mercedes SL R231. Called the Avalange GT-R, this package is designed to inject some drama and excitement into the SL’s veins and make it less boring.
Piecha Design Mercedes SL comes with its own front-end design; one that the tuner believes the car should have been given from the beginning. It consists of a completely new front bumper and a revised grille, complete it with unique air intakes and LED lights. They do have a point. This looks a lot better than Mercedes’ own arrangement.
Piecha was apparently happy with the way the SL looked from the side, as they only fit it with a pair of subtle side skirts here and moved on. At the back though, again, they replaced the stock bumper with a sportier version they’ve designed themselves. It features a very sexy diffuser and AMG tailpipes, and is accentuated by the boot lid spoiler.
The cost of this treatment is a rather dear 12,000 Euros, and that is not including the wheels, assembly and paint.
