German tuner Oettinger decided to beat Volkswagen in its own game and came up with a 400 horsepower version of the Golf R before they can get around making the R400 concept. In doing so they have created a hot hatchback that delivers the performance of a full-on super car.

Oettinger VW Golf R has the same 2.0 liter TSI engine as the standard model, but it’s been fitted with larger turbocharger and sport exhaust system, plus a bespoke engine management software. That results in an output of 400 horsepower and over 500 Nm of torque.

With that kind of power at its disposal, Golf VII R can accelerate from 0 to 00 km/h in less than four seconds and reach a top speed of 280 km/h. Oettinger guarantees durability of the engine.

If that is too much performance for you, Oettinger VW Golf R also comes in 380 hp and 360 hp flavours. They also offer a styling kit for the car, consisting of front spoiler, side skirts, roof spoiler and quad tail pipe rear skirt. A range of 19 and 20-inch wheels are also available.
