There is no doubt about the capabilities of the new BMW M4 and the fact that it’s a serious performance car. But as we have learned from the World Cup, the better team on paper is not always the winner. You never know for sure until it is tested on the battlefield.

So let’s head to the battlefield, in this case a race track, where the guys from AutoExpress are putting the BMW M4 against its biggest rival and the current benchmark in the sports coupe segment, the Audi RS5:

This was interesting, wasn’t it? The Audi is more powerful than the Bimmer and it has a big V8 instead of a straight-six. It even has a quattro four-wheel-drive system. What Audi doesn’t have is the BMW’s finesse. If these cars were body builders, the RS5 would be Kai Green who is just big and brutal. The M4 would be Phil Heath who is big for sure, but also has style and charisma. Plus, the press likes him better!
