If you are already bored with your new MINI Cooper S, a German tuner called Maxi has an upgrade package for the S model that spices things up a bit using a healthy dose of extra oomph and some chassis mods. When they’re through with it, the Cooper S is leaner, meaner, lower, and faster.
Maxi-Tuner’s MINI Cooper S benefits form an engine upgrade program consisting of an electronic magic box – that’s ECU remap –and a valve-controlled sport exhaust system. Together they increase the output of the car from 190 to 220 horsepower, thus reducing the 0-100 km/h time and increasing the top speed.
Seeing as power is nothing without control, Maxi then set about upgrading the chassis. To that end they employed H&R lowering springs to bring the car closer to the ground and enhance its stability, and a set of 18-inch Schmidt Shift wheels with 215/35 tires on all four corners.
The wheels will set you back around 1,500 Euros, the suspension 300, exhaust 700, and the engine treatment 900 Euros.
