Technically, Mercedes A45 AMG is a hot hatchback. But even in its standard factory form, this car is more powerful than most muscle cars and sports car. It doesn’t strike anyone as underpowered, that’s for sure. Well, anyone but the engineers at VATH.

The Mercedes specialist of VATH Automobiltechnik GmbH decided they should improve on AMG’s work by giving the baby Merc a boatload of power. So they took the 2.0 liter turbo unit and went to town with it.

When they were through with it, the output of VATH Mercedes A45 AMG had shot up from 360 horsepower stadnard to 425, with 515 Nm of torque. That increase in power has been achieved through the use of new electronics and a bespoke exhaust system named 45 EVO with 200 cells VA-stainless steel 90mm valve-enabled endpipes.

To cope with the extra oomph, VATH Mercedes A45 AMG also gets a couple of chassis mods including adjustable club sport coilovers with lowering between 25 to 60mm, and a set of 20-inch VATH wheels with fatty fat tires.
