We were expecting this car sooner, but AC Schnitzer BMW i8 is finally here offering a professionally tuned version of the hybrid sports car. For now, the modifications include a carbon aero kit, new wheels, uprated suspension, and a few interior tweaks.

Later on AC may also include a power upgrade for the i8’s three-cylinder petrol engine and fit it a sport exhaust system as well. But as it is, AC Schnitzer BMW i8 is all about the visual features, and we have to say they’ve done a fine job with it.

The styling kit AC Schnitzer has devised for the i8 consists of carbon front spoiler elements, carbon side skirts (left and right) and a carbon rear wing. They are fairly subtle, but thanks to the unique shape of the car they stand out and give the i8 a more sporty look, especially that rear spoiler. Complementing the exterior mods are a number of cool interior upgrades including aluminium pedal set, aluminium root rest and velours floor mats.

As for the wheels and suspension, AC Schnitzer BMW i8 is equipped with the tuner’s sport springs and lowered by 25 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear. That pretty much slams the car on the new C1 Lightweight Forged Wheels in size 21 inch, shod with 245/35 tires up front and 285/30 R out back. These rims are 30 percent lighter than their conventional counterparts.
