Not that the standard AMG GT S is by any means weak or slow, but since it is rather easy tweaking its engine many tuners have come up with power packages for it. We just looked at Performmaster’s GT with 612 PS, now check out Mcchip Mercedes AMG GT which is a tad weaker, but offers better value.
The boys at Mcchip-DKR are electronic experts and they know that the 4.0 liter AMG bi-turbo V8 int the AMG GT responds well to chip tuning. So they tailored a software for it that changes some parameters regarding ignition and valve timing and stuff like that, and as a result boosts the power output by as much as 80 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque.
That means that Mcchip Mercedes AMG GT S is now packing 590 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. As mentioned, you get more from what Performmaster offers. But you have to remember Mcchip’s kit is a neat and simple chip mod and it costs only 1,899 Euros. That is the cleanest and most affordable way of gaining 80 horsepower.
