Tesla Motors is proud to announce that their customers have surpassed a great milestone, one that is enough compensation for all the effort the company put into building this car and all the money they lost on it. Tesla Model S has now officially 1 billion electric miles under its belt.
That is the equivalent of 40,000 trips around the Earth or 4,000 trips to the moon, all of it emission-free. British drivers apparently contributed greatly to this record, having covered 6.6 million miles in their Model S Teslas in just one year.
Not only does this milestone show the growing popularity of Tesla Model S and electric motoring in general, it is also a testament to the safety and durability of this car. This car is a luxurious and quite pricey EV that still suffers from issues like range anxiety and long charging time. But what it offers in terms of emission-free motoring, comfort, convenience, and prestige are more than make up for its problems.
In order to reduce and eventually eliminate the range anxiety issue, Tesla has created a charging network spanning North America, Europe and Asia that now consists of 445 Supercharger stations and thousands of Destination Charging locations.
