It seems that ‘bagging’ cars is fashionable again as we are seeing more and more of them these days. Not that they ever went out of fashion, because they really aren’t so popular as to become a trend. At any rate, if you like that bagged BMW 4 Series we showed you a few days ago, you will probably find this bagged Audi S5 just as cool.
Bagging, of course, is an extreme treatment favored by a few. Frankly it’s a stupid thing to do to a car, and expensive too. But you can deny that aesthetically they are marvelous. Petrolheads unanimously agree that the lower a car is to the ground, the better it looks. And you can’t really get much closer to the ground than by bagging your car.
In order to successfully bagging your car you first need a proper air suspension system. It’s a complex mod intended for the tuning world’s heavy hitter and not suitable for the faint-hearted. Then you have to look for a set of wheels that not only works with the lowered ride height, when the suspension is collapsed, but look good too. A lot of baggers also buff up the wheel arches a bit to make sure the huge wheels won’t catch them on the move.
The wheels on this bagged Audi S5 come from European tuner mbDESIGN. The KV1 10,5×20″ DC rims look pretty cool inside those flared fenders, but on their own they will rob you of nearly 3,500 Euros.
