#77 Piccadilly is the address of ARES Performance showroom, a new British tuner founded by former Lotus boss Dany Bahar. As you would expect from Mr Bahar, this ambitious man has already come up with plans to upgrade a whole bunch of exotic cars, starting with this, the magnificent ARES Performance Mercedes G-Class.
This is probably not the best time to mention that Dany Bahar was sacked from Lotus because of his overly ambitious plans and his tendency to waste the company’s resources on pointless publicity stunts, most of which involved celebrities. We should wait and judge Bahar’s new effort based on its own merits. So we will be featuring ARES’s projects one by one over the next days and weeks, and will report on their success or failure in due course.
So, ARES Performance Mercedes G-Class, what sets this bad boy apart from the other million G-Wagens out there tricked-out in way or another? Well, ARES has a simple and elegant package in mind for the big G, promising the finished product will be in a league of its own.
For the exterior they are proposing a Carbon Prepreg consisting of custom front and rear bumpers, rear diffuser, side skirts and front grille, plus ARES Design ultra light 21 or 22 inch forged wheels. Main interior mods will include custom made sports steering wheel, custom made Nappa leather interior and upholstery with inserts, two single climate and adjustable seats in the rear and a multimedia system.
In terms of performance, ARES Performance Mercedes G-Class will get an ECU upgrade to 680 HP plus steel or titanium exhaust system and sport suspension system with adjustable ride height.
