German tuner DÄHLER has come up with an upgrade package for the 4.4 liter M-TwinPower-Turbo-V8 from the BMW X5M and X6M, boosting its output to an exciting 680 horsepower. On paper you should also be able to get this upgrade for the M5 and M6, but they have only tested it so far for the SUVs.
DÄHLER BMW X5M and X6M come in two stages with 664 and 680 horsepower. The first one is utterly pointless to be honest, because if you are having your engine modified and getting 664 PS, you might as well go all the way and have the full-fat 680 package. This one enables the car to have a 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 305 km/h.
As for the ingredients of DÄHLER performance kit, it includes high performance catalysts, stainless steel exhaust systems, and most importantly the tuner’s own engine management software and calibration. They also offer tuned chassis with adjustable suspension system and a set of 22 or 23 inch wheels. Upon request, they can hook you up with some interior upgrades as well.
There is no word on pricing yet, but an increase of 120 horsepower over the standard surely won’t come cheap.
