The latest BMW 2 Series to go through Mcchip-DKR workshop is a black 220i coupe. It’s been given a full mc360 treatment, and there’s a clue as to the kind of horsepower you can expect from the tiny little Mcchip BMW 220i. Think of it as the 1M’s illegitimate love child!
Mcchip BMW 220i came with a 326 hp six-cylinder in-line engine and left with 360 horsepower which is a decent amount of upgrade through electronics alone. The standard car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h / 62 mph in 7.0 seconds on the way to a top speed of 235 km/h / 146 mph, so you can expect the tuned version to be perceptibly quicker and more responsive as well.
But that is not all. Mcchip is planning a major upgrade for the 2.0 liter engine in the 220i, a program which includes upgraded turbocharger, downpipes, sport Kat 200cspi, intercooler and further software optimization. With those bits installed, Mcchip BMW 220i could potentially become as powerful as an M4.
The unassuming coupe also gets a chassis upgrade with KW Coilover Variant 3 suspension and a set of mbDESIGN LV-1 wheels in size 8,5 x 19 inch with Michelin pilot Super Sport tires. It’s quite a recipe they have devised for the 220i. All it needs after all this is a nice new design — maybe a cool wrap or something.
