We’ve hearing less and less about MINI lately, especially in terms of special and limited editions. They have now come up with a new SE version of the MINI Countryman which, to be frank, is not that special and could be just a slightly posher trim grade. Still, they’ve put a 250 units production cap on it to make it at least sound special.
The blacked-out MINI Countryman Special Edition comes with a number of unique interior and exterior appointments. But as we said, they are all features a higher trim grade would have had. They are not at all special edition-ish. There is an inherent problem with excessively trendy products like MINI’s. The novelty soon wears off of them and what you end up with is a thing of little substance.
In any case, the MINI Countryman Special Edition features, on the outside, Space Grey Metallic roof and mirror caps, 18” 5-Star Double Spoke alloy wheels in black and Absolute Black Metallic body paint. These are complemented with interior upgrades such as Piano Black trims and leather upholstery in Gravity-Carbon Black.
Equipment-wise, being based on the S or SD ALL4 grade, the Special Edition gets Front Seat Heating, Automatic Air Conditioning and Xenon Headlights, plus MINI Navigation System, Voice Control, MINI Connected, Enhanced Bluetooth and USB audio.
