American-based German tuner RENNtech has come up with a power upgrade package for the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63, the replacement for the old ML-Class. Based on the S version, RENNtech Mercedes GLE 63 AMG pumps out a remarkable 679 horsepower and 753 lb-ft of torque.

The 2016 GLE 63 S is powered by AMG’s 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 engine which RENNtech is intimately familiar with. Still, extracting near as makes no difference an extra hundred horsepower out of it required a great deal of technical know-how and a few strategic changes in the right places. The changes resulting in RENNtech Mercedes GLE 63 AMG packing considerably more power than the standard model (585 hp) include an ECU Upgrade and custom exhaust system featuring downpipes and 200 cell catalytic converter.

RENNtech has not released the performance figures for the souped-up GLE 63, but the standard car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds which is frankly astonishing for a full-size family SUV. You can expect this version to accomplish that task in four-seconds flat. Later on, as is RENNtech’s custom, they will come up with more upgrades for this model including a few nicely designed body components, new sets of wheels, and upgraded suspension that would improve both the dynamics of the car and its stance.
