G-Power is officially a BMW tuner, but lately they have found that what they do also works great with AMG engines. So they’ve been doing up more and more of them, with the latest being this cool G-Power Mercedes S63 Coupe which they have nicknamed the Sledgehammer due to the enormous power that it wields.

When the project car you start with has a 5.5 liter V8 bi-turbo engine with 585 horsepower, you have to be fairly confident of your skills to try and improve that. Fortunately, the G-boys have the confidence and the expertise to go with it, and they have created a masterpiece. This G-Power Mercedes S63 Coupe now packs 705 hp and 1,000 Nm torque, making the luxury coupe a full-fledged super car.

The way the tuner achieved the incredible boost of 120 hp and 100 Nm of torque is through the use of their magical Bi-Tronik 5 V1 power module which is a plug and play device placed between the factory ECU and engine. This sophisticated bit of kit remain inactive under partial load to save fuel, coming online only when the oil temperature suggests high performance is in order. If the factory setting regarding those figures are exceeded, the system automatically shuts down for the safety of the engine.

With the newfound muscle the G-Power Mercedes S63 Coupe Sledgehammer is capable of making 100 out of zero km/h in 3.8 seconds, and because there is no limiter in the way it can reach a top speed of 325 km/h. As usual, the only visual mod is a set of ultra-light-weight 21-inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged wheels wrapped in high performance Michelin rubber.
