Those of you who remember of the rubbish but magnificent Mercedes SL65 Black Series are probably wondering now how in the world can someone tune this monster. Well, HG Motorsports knows how, and they have put together a nice package to showcase this knowledge.

HG’s Mercedes SL65 Black Series is a complete and utter monster in terms of power and performance with 810 horsepower and more than a 1,000 lb-ft of torque. They have relied heavily on RENNtech for this gain in power, using the firm’s custom treatment for the Black which includes: ECU Upgrade, Air Inlets, Dual Intercooler Pump Upgrade Kit, Stainless Steel Sport Mufflers, 100% Locking Limited Slip Differential and Transmission Upgrade.

Thanks to that limited-slip locking diff this Black Series should now drive a lot better than the stock version which wasted most of its 670 horsepower fighting the earth for traction. Since Mercedes SL65 Black Series is one of the sickest looking cars the Benz company has ever made, the tuner involved in this project decided to leave it at that and only added a set of Strasse Wheels as the only visual mod.  Be fair when you are in control of 810 horsepower you don’t really care about the looks.
