The Buick Cascada convertible, which is known as an Opel in Europe, is now available in red, and it’s been such a momentous decision for the car maker to offer the car in this color they actually made it a whole new edition. Buick Cascada Sport Red is limited in the first batch to just 150 vehicles.

In fairness, there is more to the 2017 Buick Cascada Sport Red than just a bucket of red paint. The car comes with a new Dark Effects package which includes gloss-black finish on the grille, mirror caps and 20-inch wheels, as well as body-color trim across the decklid. Inside, the Sport Red Cascadas benefit from red stitching on the instrument panel, doors and seats.

Buick Cascada Sport Red was produced in response to the request by customers who had seen the car and recognized its nice curves and delicate features have some feminine qualities to them. And like anything feminine, the thing looks hotter in red. How did the designers and managers miss that in the first place, we have no idea.

“We’ve heard it from customers all year: ‘What a beautiful car. Can I get it in red?’ Well yes, now you can,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick Sales, Service and Marketing. “This new addition to the Cascada portfolio offers a modern style statement with blacked-out exterior trim and red interior stitching.”
