The weird little Kia Soul is a car that many people simultaneously both hate and love. It looks kind of stupid, but is also loveable at the same time, and now there is a new Turbo version that makes it even more confusing because now it also has decent performance. The 2017 Kia Soul Turbo packs 200 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
That puts the Soul Turbo 1.6T above the 2.0 liter model which has 160 hp. The fuel economy is also better at 28 US MPG combined, and in combination with a new 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) the car is more responsive and nicer to drive as well.
Available in Exclaim trim level, the new Kia Soul Turbo also benefits from a long list of features such as exclusive 18-inch wheels, red-accented body trim, chrome grille surround, unique Soul tailgate badge; and dual chrome twin-tip exhaust, plus standard leather-wrapped, D-shaped steering wheel, pushbutton start with smart key and UVO3, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 15-watt Harman Kardon audio system, 8 inch navigation display, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection.
“We wanted to provide loyal Soul lovers and new buyers a sportier option,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning KMA. “The 2017 Soul Exclaim with its turbocharged engine gives the car’s fans another wonderful choice from an already wonderful line-up.”
