So you have seen the pictures and the promotional videos of the new Maserati Levante SUV and you may have even seen it out on the street a couple of times. But to really know is this thing is a genuinely good sport/luxury SUV though, you need an expert who has driven a whole bunch of other cars in those classes to take the Levante out for a thorough on and off road test. Fortunately, we have such a man at hand in form of former Evo boss Harry Metcalfe.

In this review Harry takes the big Maser out to the fields around his estate in England and gives you an in-depth look at pretty much all the features of the car and delivers the expert verdict that could well determine whether people will buy this car or move to something else, Range Rover Autobiography or Cayenne Turbo perhaps.

This Maserati Levante features a 3.0 liter diesel V6 with 275 hp delivering 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and a 230 km/h maximum speed while keeping the fuel economy as low as 7.2 litres/100 km. You can also go for a twin-turbo V6 petrol with 350or 430 hp with the fastest version being capable of 5.2″ 0 to 100 km/h and a top speed of 264 km/h. Both petrol and diesel versions of the Maserati Levante use the eight-speed automatic ZF gearbox.
