You do not have many choices if what you want is a four-eater luxury convertible car. That is why Mercedes is too not worried about updating their E-Cabrio. They know the competition is not that strong. So if you want to freshen up your Cabrio Merc you have to go aftermarket.
There are some pretty nice body kits and interior treatments available for the Mercedes E500 Cabrio, but performance-wise, the opposite is the case. You either have to all out and opt for one of the ultra-powerful kits form Brabus and the like, or settle for a light upgrade that doesn’t really make a difference.
Now, Mcchip-DKR has come up with a new chip tuning program for the Mercedes E500 Cabrio that is easy to install and efficient enough to be considered by everybody, and effective enough not to be a waste of money.
The electronic modification in Mcchip’s kit alters a couple of important lines of codes in the E500’s 5.5 liter V8 engine and changes the ignition and fuel mix ratios. The result is a bump in power from the standard 388 PS and 530 Nm to a pretty decent 406 PS and 563 Nm of torque. That means more pulling over and better responsiveness.
