The next virtual concept car to make its way into your Playstations very soon is the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo. This concept also serves as a teaser, or something to keep the fans busy, while the real 21st century Alpine sports car is taking shape.
Being a virtual concept, the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo could be as mad as the designer wanted it to be, and indeed it is. The car looks absolutely insane; something straight out of Science Fiction, and probably what cars will look like in the year 2099. Despite the hugely futuristic styling though, you can still discern some retro Alpine design cues, which is very cool.
While the designers were allowed to let their minds roam free, the guy in charge of coming up with some imaginary specs for the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo was told to keep it sensible and reasonable, so as not to give those waiting for the real thing any false ideas. So this beat of a concept only has a 4.5 liter V8 engine with 450hp and 580Nm of torque. Despite that, it can reach a video game speed of 320 km/h.
A life-size model of this GT concept will be shown to the public at the next Paris Motor Show.
