In an effort to make their city car, the Picanto, more spicy, Kia announced the launch of a new special edition model. Called Kia Picanto Chilli, these models come with higher specification than current range-topping models and represent greater value.
Kia Picanto Chilli counts on a number of visual modifications for a sportier look. It gets new front and rear bumpers and a twin exhaust tailpipe as well as additional side sill mouldings painted to match the new body colors, of which there are three. There is also a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels shod with 175/50 tyres are the final finishing touch.
Inside the cabin, the Chilli Picanto benefits from black faux leather seats with striking red and grey cloth cushions and backrests to match the inserts on the doors, aluminium pedals with non-slip rubber pads, and Gloss Black centre fascia, steering wheel bezel and gearshifter top.
Powered by a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 84bhp and 120Nm (89lb ft) of torque, Kia Picanto Chilli Edition comes with satellite navigation, seven-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, and a six-speaker audio system. Prices start from £11,495.
