The ground-braking Mercedes CLS has been with us for six years now but it still looks all fresh and cool. However,  Mercedes is currently hard at work preparing the next generation of this fabulous car to be shown next year. So as usual there are a lot of speculations about how the new model would look like, and here’s one of them!

As you know Mercedes CLS was the first car with a four-door coupe shape, which has been copied by almost all of the mainstream manufacturers! Obviously, the 2011 model (type C218) has this feature, but the whole design is expected to become more grown up, with less lunacy. The new CLS might be a bit less sporty but more discrete, more of an executive saloon. It’ll be wider and more spacious inside than the current model.

As for the engines, it will be on the par with the E-Class on which it is based, so it’ll be available with BlueEfficiency four-cylinder engines as well. And there will be an AMG version, but it’s not clear if Mercedes will use the normally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 or if they go a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8. Some say Mercedes is going to drop the 6.3 engine and use the twin-turbo one for better overall efficiency. The CLS will also get Merc’s 7-G Tronic autobox and it also comes with start/stop system.
