BMW ActiveHybrid X6 Dyno Test BMW ActiveHybrid X6 Dyno 1

Dyno test is usually for sports and supercar and it would be totally pointless for a hybrid car. Unless that hybrid car is a BMW ActiveHybrid X6 which has 480 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque, then it makes sense! This power comes from a twin-turbo V8 and two electric motors. Guys at Inside Line recently put one of this X6s on the machine to see what’s what. So, how many of this 480 horses you think make it to the ground?!

Well, let’s cut straight to the chase: 368! And as for the torque, it’s 402 instead of 575. Of course everybody knows that there’s drivetrain loss, but by how much?! You may say that’s because it’s a 4WD car, but if that system kills 112 hp in the process delivering the power, BMW should really re-think it! Or at least claims a more realistic number!
