You don’t see this everyday! At the opening round of 2011 Le Mans Series in a beautiful sunny day at Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track, drivers were looking forward to a great race and spectators to an awesome weekend. But they were let down by the world’s thickest safety car driver. As you see in the video above, after the parade lap the cars get ready for their rolling start as the light go green, but the safety car driver, for whatever reason, stays on the track for another lap. LMP1 cars closer to the Audi pace car realize this and slow down but back in the grid drivers were unaware of this mistake and… ouch!
