This awesome BMW 328 Hommage Concept has one purpose, paying tribute to the legendary 328 of 1930s.

It is, as the looks suggests, based on the Vision Connected Drive Concept and tries to recreate the features of the classic 328. The car that in its time was one of the world’s fastest and best looking sportscars. It is the modern-day interpretation of the original car, even though it looks like a facelifted Vision CD! Those vertically positioned double kidney grille inspired by the old car are a very nice though.

Staying loyal to the qualities of the old 328 which was largely made of aluminum and magnesium, the Hommage is also very lightweight. But being a modern car it uses carbon fiber to achieve that goal.The car weighs only 780 kg.

Not only do the exterior and interior CFRP elements of the BMW 328 make an exceptional statement. The up-to-date implementation of the original vehicle character is also expressed in the choice of other materials used on the inside and outside of the vehicle. Fine leather, matt and high-gloss black polished aluminium as well as the CFRP interior visualise in the BMW 328 Hommage the pure and functional roadster character of the sports car of that day.

The features of this car’s interior which looks more like the cockpit of the old fighter planes include items like high-gloss aluminium safety buckles, leather straps and carbon fiber accents, a large silver “75″ as well as a small logo below it, as well as the highly exquisite integrated tank filler neck protruding from the right-hand side.

BMW has said nothing about the 328 Hommage’s powertrain. We have a sneaking suspicion that it hasn’t got one! The car makes its debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
