The all-new 2013 Mercedes SL gets its first major publicity gig in a Calvin Klein commercial with Dutch model Lara Stone. Filmed in the California desert, it is inspired by Hitchcock Film Noir and, apparently, it’s about a lonely woman with a suitcase escaping from a tornado in the SL.

This film, we think, kinda shows what’s wrong with the design of the new Mercedes SL. They put too much emphasis on it being light and lean that the looks have suffered a bit. The new SL is like Lara Stone. Very fit, nicely proportioned, lustrous and amazing, and very good at what it does, but not a very pretty face!
