2013 Mercedes GLK Facelift Revealed

Mercedes GLK facelift 1 at 2013 Mercedes GLK Facelift Revealed

Mercedes took the wraps of the new-look GLK crossover ahead of the car’s official debut at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. The 2013 model gets a mild facelift as far as the styling is concerned, but that’s OK because the GLK is a good-looking car and its design is far from getting old. In fact, Mercedes should have never touched it. That new chrome lip is ugly.

Chrome is also used to garnish the rear apron where the car gets a sort of SL63 diffuser and exhausts. A bigger front grille, new head and tail lights, and some LEDs are other new stuff you find on the exterior of the SLK 350 model. The 250 model gets a smiley face with much less chrome, which is nicer than the 350. The latter also gets AMG wheels.

Inside the cabin, the design is on the par with other new Mercedes models with SLS-style air vents, control panel and steering wheel. The sporty look and feel of the cabin suits the sporty nature of the GLK. There’s a whole range of features and equipments available for the car including infotainment system, Bluetooth, Brakes Assist, Nigh View Assist, PreSafe and…

As for the engines, you have the choice of 200, 250 and 350 diesel and 350 petrol. As with almost all other premium new cars, the GLK features electric steering, auto start/stop and a 7G-Tronic automatic transmission with economy mode. The GLK can also be had with low-resistance tires. The most fuel efficient model is the GLK 200 CDI with average consumption of 5.5 liter per 100 km.

Prices and specs will be revealed at the New York Show.
