Pictures of a small, but lavish four-door coupe Mercedes Benz have hit the web, sparking rumors about a new production model. The car is a concept named Style Coupe, and its details suggest it’s pretty much exactly what we’ve been expecting for years as the baby brother for the CLS, and heard many names for, including CLC, BLS, and more recently CLA. It is quite a looker.

The word is Mercedes is going to unveil the car in a couple of days in Los Angeles. Chances are it will also appear at the Beijing Auto Show next week. The Style Coupe looks much better than any of the renderings we’ve seen so far, but it’s a concept. And as is the case with concept cars, they lose half of their charm in transition to a production model.

The CLA, or whatever it’s called, will be based on the same platform upon which the new Mercedes A-Class is built, and will get the same engine lineup as well. It is not clear at the moment whether or not there’s going to be an AMG version. The A-Class hatchback is getting one, so why shouldn’t the CLA?

We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
