The guys at AutoExpress magazine are among the first journalists to get behind the wheel of the new Mercedes SL63, and they brought us a video review of the car. The new 2013 SL63 lives up to the expectations in terms of brute force, earth-shattering exhaust noise, awesome luxury stuff and massive speed. Those are the things you naturally expect from an AMG car. It’s just the looks that might stop you from wanting this car.

That’s not really AMG’s fault. They did what they could to make the weird look of the 2013 Mercedes SL more aggressive and sporty with the new bumpers and spoilers and wheels and what not.

And, is it just us, or AMG is actually getting a bit carried away with its muscle car-like exhaust noise. We do love that V8 roar as much as the next guy, but what we want something like the natural howl of the old SL55. This new V8’s note is so tweaked and fiddled with, it sounds kinda fake.
