Damn: No Top Gear This Year

Thanks to the London 2012 Olympics, there will be no new Top Gear season this year. The whole Britain is tuning into the Olympic mode, so you’d forgive BBC for not caring about a bunch of petrolheads who are not going to get their regular dose of motoring entertainment. TG’s front man Jeremy Clarkson made it clear in an interview with Sasha Martinengo on Ballz Radio, while speaking about Top Gear Live tours and working with Hammond and May, that he’s chuffed to be with his mates because there’s no Top Gear this year.

The thing is, Top Gear is a more popular show, and probably has more viewers than the Olympics anyway! But here we are, facing like 8 months with no new Top Gear. That is, of course, assuming they’ll be back soon in 2013. Realistically, it might be a whole year until next Spring before Season 19 hit the telly. The only consolation is, they will plenty of time to film awesome stuff.

That being said, the TG team is good at making Special episodes. So we could have one of those. And there will be, hopefully, a couple of DVDs to keep us amused.

Check out Jeremy’s interview below. As always, it’s full of clever remarks and funny jokes.
