Citroen DS5 Gets New Options at Citroen DS5 Gets New Options

Citroen UK announced an update to the DS5’s options list, providing the DS5 DStyle & DSport Hybrid4 models with new 17-inch alloys, and the HDi 160 & THP 200 DStyle & DSport models with new Sport Signature Packs. It’s a bit hard to fathom the DS5’s range, but hey, it’s not a normal car anyway. Just look at it!

Those stylish 17-inch ‘Houston’ alloy wheels are available as a no-cost option on Hybrid4 DStyle and DSport, because they are not available to mainly make the car look better. These smaller wheels are designed to bring the cars’ CO2 emissions from 107g/km to 99g/km, making them exempt from the London congestion charge.

We would understand this kind of thinking if the car in question was a C2 or a C5. But since when the DS lineup trades style and beauty for less emissions?!

As for the Sport Signature and Dark Sport Signature packs for the HDi 160 diesel & THP 200 petrol models, these are not no-cost options. They are priced at £650 and offer some nice improvements, such as lowered suspension (by 7mm), black door mirrors and grey or black 19-inch ‘Cairns’ alloy wheels for the Sport Signature and Dark Sport Signature respectively. Now that’s something that fits within the DS philosophy.
